Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya is a highland town in the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, at about 1,800 metres above sea level. The air is noticeably cooler than elsewhere on the island.

About Nuwara Eliya
Often called 'Little England' for its colonial-era buildings and gardens, Nuwara Eliya is surrounded by tea plantations. You can visit a working factory to see how Ceylon tea is made.
Gregory Lake, Hakgala Botanical Garden and the surrounding hills are good for walks, and the climate makes it a welcome change after the lowlands.
