The Nine Arch Bridge, a stone viaduct set in the forest, is the best-known sight, and trains cross it at set times. Little Adam's Peak is an easy walk with wide views, and Ella Rock is a longer, more demanding hike.
Ravana Falls and the surrounding trails add more options, and the town has cafés and guesthouses suited to a slower pace.

Best time to visit
Mornings are generally clearer for views. The drier months from January to April are usually best for walking.
